Art Jam 6: Spidey

I have a couple of unfinished drawings on my Laptop. They are either sketches that went too far and turned into almost finished illustrations or half finished tributes. But  I wanted to specially tackle this one since I started it.

On this week's Art Jam, EDSFOX and I wanted to explore our style of coloring. Each of us took a finished sketch and practiced coloring. Just relaxed and drinking coffee. MarteGod couldn't make it, (coloring Marvel comics is a tough job) We hope to see you very soon bro.

So here is my first Spidey ever. I'm surprised that I have never really try to draw famous characters such as this one before. The background is just an experiment so the character wouldn't felt so alone on the layout.

Done in Sketchbook Pro and colored in Photoshop CS5.

Digital Art Process : Nadia Color

Continuing with the Digital Art Process Series of posts, here is the third and final state:

The Color Process. Part 1 and 2.

Done in Photoshop CS5.

The only part that I didn't record was the flattening of the colors. This is where you just put a flat color or colors on the art just to have a base on where to start coloring. I'm not saying that this stage is a waste of time, it's just that for the sake of the video not being an hour long I cut this part out.

I hope this series has helped you in some sort of way. Please feel free to ask or comment anything. I will be looking forward to it.

Digital Art Process : Nadia Inks

Continuing with the Digital Art Process Series of posts, here is the second state:

The Inking Process. Part 1 and 2.

Also done in Manga Studio Ex 4. I must say that this was one of the first times I got to try this software and it is marvelous. It perfectly emulates the real thing with all its ups and almost none of its downs. Plus, the forever awesome Undo function, saves you lots of time and boosts your productivity.

Digital Art Process : Pencils

About a month ago I posted the general process I follow when I'm doing a commission. I also said that I record the whole process and I would post it. Here it is the first of three posts of the whole thing:

The drawing process.

This was done on Manga Studio Ex 4. My review of the software is still pending. For now I leave you with the video post. Hope it helps you.

Art Jam 4: Mumm Ra

Art Jam came and went again. Getting better with each edition, we went back to the popular coffee shop with a great affluence of cute girls. This time we had a visitor, Hugo, who just stayed for a while.

This week's theme was the allmighty Thundercats. My character: Mumm Ra, your favorite Thundera sac of evil and bones.

Art Jam Mike Colors

As I said before, the only way to improve is through hard work and to surround yourself with better artists than you. And if they happen to be awesome people, well, it doesn't get any better than that.

This is the result of last week's Art Jam with Martegod. He deliciously colored Michaelangelo and I couldn't  be more impressed with his work! What can I say... the guy is insanely good.

Be sure to check out his work http://martegod.deviantart.com/ you wont regret it.

Art Jam Leo Colors

Here is the colored version of last week's Art Jam Leo with EDSFOX. I did the color of his work, and apparently he gave me the thumbs up.

His only request was that, maybe next time I could include something in the background.

Art Jam 3: Michaelangelo

Taco pizza Dude!

Who doesn't love the TMNT? It was my favorite saturday morning cartoon and my personal childhood heroes.

In this week's Art Jam, EdsFox introduced me to a buddy of him, MarteGod. We jam at his apartment, not at Starbucks like we usually do. Turns out he is not only an awesome artist but also a really cool guy. He even gave me some beer, nothing wrong with that :) Check out his work!

Anyway, this time I drew Michaelangelo. Marte did Raph and EdsFox did Leo.

MarteGod is going to put the colors on mine. I will color EdsFox's Leo and he will color Marte's Raph.

Art Jam 2: Ryu colored

Hadoken!
This is last week's Art Jam Ryu all colored up. My friend EdsFox did the pencils, I did the coloring. It is worth mentioning that I experimented with new tecniques and I was really exited with the results. Too bad that EdsFox lost his colored version of my Ryu. ¬ ¬.

Done and colored in Photoshop.
